In Behind-the-ear hearing aids, the microphone, speaker and amplifier are housed in a shell that fits behind the ear.
The shell is connected to the ear canal with a transparent tube or slim tube and a custom mold or dome. They are smaller in size than the older BTE hearing aids. Due to their small size they are aesthetically pleasing.
These hearing aids can be used in greater hearing loss with very good results due to the increased capacity of the amplifier and the distance between the speaker and the microphone.
