Receiver-In-Canal Hearing Aids (R.I.C.)

In the Receiver-In-Canal hearing aids, the microphone and the amplifier are housed in a shell that fits behind the ear while the receiver is inserted into the ear. Due to their small size, they are aesthetically pleasing.

They are smaller in size than traditional behind-the-ear hearing aids. A small transparent cable connects the hearing aid with the receiver inside the ear canal and is worn with a dome. No template is needed to be taken for this type of hearing aids, so it can be given to the customer the same day.

R.I.C. hearing aids are suitable for higher frequencies hearing loss but normal low frequencies (or vice versa). This type of hearing aids does not “plug” the ear, so the user can still hear with their natural hearing, in addition to the amplification provided by the headset.
