Receiver-in-canal (R.I.C.)

In Receiver-in-canal (R.I.C.) hearing aids, the microphone and amplifier are housed in a shell that fits behind the ear while the speaker is inserted inside the ear. Due to their small size, they are aesthetically pleasing.

They are smaller in size than traditional BTE hearing aids. A small transparent cable connects the hearing aid with the speaker inside the ear canal and is worn with a dome. No ear canal measurements or custom molds are needed, it can be given the same day to the customer.

R.I.C. hearing aids are suitable for hearing loss that consists of high frequencies loss but normal low frequencies (or vice versa). This type of hearing aids does not “clog” the ear, so the user still listens with his/her natural hearing in addition to the amplification received by the hearing aids.
